Pura vida!

The Villas

There are lots of lovely places to stay in Costa Rica, yet very few are on the beach, with direct access to the beach and ocean. When we found a piece of property nestled in the forest but very close to the beach, we bought it despite the many complications of owning* property in the “Maritime Zone.” Regardless, we’re delighted we did because the proximity to the beach is vital to making full use of the beauty of Costa Rica

Dominical

The closest town to our villas is Dominical, which is about 40 minutes south of Quepos and Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio. Home to about 800 residents, Dominical is known for its great surfing, diverse restaurants, adventurous activities, and laid-back attitude. There are no high-rise buildings, no big resorts, no casinos. What it does have is the best of Costa Rica: bio-diversity, friendly people, and miles (or rather kilometers) of gorgeous beaches.

This section has information on restaurants in the area, surfing and swimming, eco-adventures, day trips by car, and other activities.

visiting Costa Rica

While we’re not tour operators or travel agents, we have visited Costa Rica over 50 times in the last couple of decades, and we’ve gathered some information that may be of use to new travelers, and veteran travelers as well. This section includes information on flying to Costa Rica, renting a car, driving customs, the climate, etc.
